Jump!

Suppose you turned the news on and there was an alert story unfolding and it goes something like this;

“There is a kid on top of the school” one teacher screamed! Soon all the teachers are out in the parking lot looking up.  The kid yells “it’s all over; my girlfriend broke up with me and my parents don’t understand so this is it”.  The principal finally comes up with a solution that all the teachers wholeheartedly agree with.  “Let’s yell JUMP”!  “What a great idea one teacher exclaimed”.  They all begin yelling JUMP JUMP JUMP all in unison until the kid finally takes a swan dive right onto the pavement and splat, it’s over.  The teachers all high five each other in high spirits as they have successfully implemented their new policy of inclusion.

That is the true story that is taking place all over America today.  Young boys (and girls) are showing up at school confused, abused and neglected looking for answers but the only answer they get is “jump”.  Kids sometimes go through confusing times due to many factors, such as being molested as a child or being disconnected from one or both parents or from coming into contact with pornography or simply watching too much tv.  So what should the adults do when children express their confusion?  The answer that I am hearing is to “lead them into more confusion”.   Lead them into a life of sin, disease, mental disorder, loneliness, dysfunction, unproductiveness, lies and danger.  The homosexual lifestyle is wrought with high suicide and heavy drug use.  It ultimately leads to an unfruitful life with nothing to show in the end.  It also leads you away from the gospel of Jesus Christ which is the ultimate loss.  I can tell you true stories, one after the other, of people I know who fell into this trap.  And this is the best that our public schools have come up with.  I have another suggestion however.

Why don’t we try telling them the truth?  What would happen if we sat them down and explained that they were created a certain way and that their entire lives would find true function just the way they really are.  We would explain that their thoughts of crossing over into the other gender is only a mental trick that their mind is playing on them during their time of confusion but the truth is that they were born a certain way and that is the correct way.  What’s wrong with that?  Why can’t we tell them the truth?  Jesus once said; If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish?  

Why would we give the kids a venomous serpent to eat when they just wanted a piece of bread?  What kind of evil people are we?  

So in conclusion I am making this final plea to all teachers and parents;  if your kid is confused, please tell them the truth.
